SUMMER CONCERTS
DEBUTS JULY 13
Free Marina del Rey Summer Concerts are held in a beautiful waterside setting at Burton Chace Park, 13650 Mindanao Way. The series features Thursday evening classical concerts showcasing the Marina del Rey Summer Symphony, with Frank Fetta, conductor and guest soloists. On alternate weeks, Saturday pop concerts star celebrated musical entertainers. All concerts begin at 7:00 p.m.
CLASSICAL THURSDAYS
July 13
Organ soloist Samuel Soria appears with the Marina del Rey Summer Symphony, conducted by Maestro Frank Fetta, in two sensational works for organ: Symphonie Concertante by Joseph Jongen and Organ Symphony no. 3, op. 78 in C minor by Camille Saint-Saëns. The orchestra plays Toccata and Fugue, BMV 565, D minor by Johann Sebastian Bach, arranged by Leopold Stokowski.
July 27
The Marina del Rey Summer Symphony and Maestro Frank Fetta present “An Evening with the Los Angeles Opera,” featuring soloists Julianna Di Giacomo, soprano; Robert MacNeil, tenor; and Ralph Cato, baritone, in well-loved opera arias and ensembles.
August 10
Eighteen-year-old violin virtuoso Hahn-Bin plays the Romance by Antonin Dvorák and Carmen Fantaisie on themes of Bizet by Pablo de Sarasate with the Marina del Rey Summer Symphony, Maestro Frank Fetta, conductor. Other works to be featured on the program are The Age of Gold Suite by Dmitri Shostakovich; Finlandia by Jean Sibelius, and Don Juan by Richard Strauss.
August 24
Celebrated pianist John Novacek returns to the summer concerts as soloist in George Gershwin’s Second Rhapsody and Concerto in F with the Marina del Rey Summer Symphony, conducted by Maestro Frank Fetta. The orchestra plays Afro-American Symphony by William Grant Still.
POP SATURDAYS
July 22
Davis Gaines, award-winning Broadway star of “Phantom of the Opera” and many other hit musicals, appears in concert with his ensemble.
August 5
The 77-member Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra, conducted by its Artistic Director Patrick Williams, Los Angeles Philharmonic Assistant Conductor Joana Carneiro, and Justin DiCioccio; and special guest artists pianist Bill Cunliffe, clarinetist Eddie Daniels, saxophonist Tom Scott, and singer Amanda McBroom present a jazz symphonic program and a special tribute to Johnny Mercer and The Great American Songbook.
August 19
Patti Page, a legend in America’s musical history, appears in concert to sing her most famous hits of the past, as well as music from her recent Grammy award-winning album.
September 2
Cleo Laine and the John Dankworth Group return for a reprise of their sensational appearance last season at the Marina del Rey Summer Concerts.
Outdoor Concert Seating and Dining
Open seating on the lawn and hillsides surrounding the performance is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. You are encouraged to bring low beach chairs and/or blankets. A limited number of chairs are available for rent at the site. Don’t forget to bring along a jacket or sweater to stay comfortable at night near the water.
Concertgoers are invited to come early and enjoy food provided by Café Lorelei. In addition, many local restaurants and hotels are happy to provide you with specially packed boxed dinners to take to the event. Alcohol is not permitted in the park.

Parking and Transportation
Parking is available in Public Parking Lot # 4 at 13500 Mindanao Way, one block from Chace Park, as well as in Public Parking Lot # 5 at 4545 Admiralty Way at the corner of Bali Way for $5. Disabled parking is available in all lots.
WaterBus (water shuttle) service to and from the Chace Park concert site is provided for $1.00 per person one way. info
Driving To Marina del Rey
Driving into Marina del Rey from other parts of Los Angeles is made simple with its proximity to major freeways. Marina del Rey is convenient to the 405, 10 and 105 freeways, and Lincoln Boulevard (Route 1).
From the northern Los Angeles area, drive south on San Diego Freeway (405–S), past the junction with Santa Monica Freeway (10). Exit at Marina Freeway West (90) and continue for approximately 2.5 miles. Before the freeway ends, turn left onto Mindanao Way. Continue on Mindanao Way for approximately 1.5 miles to Chace Park.
From the southern Los Angeles area, drive north on San Diego Freeway (405-N), past Los Angeles International Airport. Exit at Marina Freeway (90) West and continue for approximately 2.5 miles. Before the freeway ends, turn left onto Mindanao Way. Continue on Mindanao Way for approximately 1.5 miles to Chace Park.
From the eastern Los Angeles area, drive west on Santa Monica Freeway (10-W) to San Diego Freeway South (405-S). Exit at Marina Freeway (90) West and continue for approximately 2.5 miles. Before the freeway ends, turn left onto Mindanao Way. Continue on Mindanao Way for approximately 1.5 miles to Chace Park.
